Welcome to "Caim Céile Dé"
This Forum is run by the Friends of the Céile Dé Order – who are known as Caim Céile Dé.
Caim is a Gaelic word that is often used in prayer to mean “Encompassing Grace”. It is the name that we in the Order have given to the many friends that we have made over the years of teaching our tradition throughout the world.
The forum was set up by the Céile Dé Order in Spring 2006, in response to the many people from all over the world who have said they are deeply moved by the Céile Dé tradition, but also felt frustrated because they lived too far away to receive the teachings and support of a local Céile Dé group.
As we have all felt in that position at one time or other in our spiritual lives, it seems natural to want to provide whatever support one can. We hoped that starting this forum would give many people an opportunity to share with like-minded souls all around the world.
A natural spin off from this first impulse is the fact that this forum can provide continuing sharing and mutual support for people everywhere who have attended Céile Dé workshops and retreats all over the world.
Through the course of time, the workload of administering this Forum became untenable for the members of our tiny but very busy contemplative Order. Since the Spring of 2008, the forum has been solely administered by a few committed people, many of whom were amongst the first members of our original forum. The Céile Dé Order is very grateful to our friends for their hard work in sustaining our initial impulse.
Guidelines for using the forum
This is not a forum for chat.We are aiming for a deeper level of sharing than that... we are hoping to provide spiritual conversation that is both challenging and uplifting. To that end we aim to use guidelines for conversations that are similar to those used in Céile Dé gatherings of all kinds You will see the Guidelines for how to converse on our forum once you have entered Caim Céile Dé
