Whilst some Céile Dé gatherings are Caim-only, those that are open to everyone are listed at the bottom of this page. Céile Dé teachings take place regularly in Europe and the USA. If you are thinking about coming to a Céile Dé event you will find the following information useful.

Teaching Retreats

Most of the Céile Dé gatherings listed below are termed ‘Teaching Retreats’, because they are residential, the teaching sessions are supported by frequent contemplative practices, and because a peaceful silence is held at all times between teaching sessions in order to aid absorption of the powerful energies transmitted during teachings and practices. Unless specifically stated in the retreat information provided below, all teaching retreats include the following as a matter of course:

  • Regular prayer times/meditation practices every day
  • Ancient Gaelic sacred chants
  • Spiritual Teachings from the Céile Dé tradition
  • Spiritual practices for inner transformation
  • Quiet time in Nature; the Face of The Divine.

Written materials are usually provided in order to aid further study and reflection. 

Introductory Teachings

Geared specifically towards newcomers, introductory teaching events are clearly Identified by their title. If there are no introductory teachings available in your area, you are welcome at any of the gatherings listed below; as there will be frequent reference throughout to what has been taught before.

It is in the nature of this tradition...

...that the teachings make most sense and have the greatest impact on those who have made Céile Dé their path. For this reason our teaching retreats are aimed at committed practitioners and genuinely interested newcomers who are hoping the Céile Dé tradition may turn out to be the spiritual way of life they have been looking for. If you are hoping for something that is offered as a stand-alone workshop, you may be disappointed.

Newcomers will be informed during any of the events listed below of the possibilities available to them, should they wish to take their study of the Céile Dé Tradition further.

If you live in Europe and feel called to attend the October 31st Teaching retreat in Germany (listed further down this page) or indeed any future teaching retreat in Europe, you might like to attend this Zoom presentation, in order to hear a little about the Céile Dé tradition.

PLEASE NOTE: Our NE USA Céile Dé community has chosen to alternate online and in-person retreats, which means that we will gather in person for the 2024 annual teachings, and the 2025 teachings will take place online. For practical reasons, online teaching retreats are open to Caim (group) members only. Our next in-person retreat after this year will be in 2026.
